NEW CD FOR CANNANES

Dark Beloved Cloud will be releasing a 3inch CD entitled Grassy Flat with 4 songs on it in the near future. Songs are:

1. Well I lied to you ~ a plaintive yet lively musing song sung in a glorious monotone by FJG with a lilting trumpet and tenor recorder part.
2. I caught a glimpse of you ~ words written by Alison Jones this is a reverend number with haunting trumpet by Penny McBride and may be the longest song we have done for a while but you will adore every minute - especially since Stephen cut out the last 2 minutes for your listening pleasure [no I didn't SO]. and do not fear- I dont think anyone in the band has undergone a religious conversion as yet
3.Brainful ~ This is one of Bon (Richard Kings ) numbers so god knows what it is about but from my listening sounds like someone was unlucky in love.
4. Drinking Dry ~ A duet by Jim Woff and Frances Gibson (what??!!) , this song was written in Sydney while dreaming of Melbourne. A tale of two cities.

VARIOUS IN THE WORKS

Release of Rock Opera based on Marcel Proust remembrance of Things Past with Frances as Albertine written by Matt Galloway and friends
Recording has commenced on new as yet unnamed full length CD
Nobody loves an Albatross ~ possible double album started a while back but postponed due to technical + time issues ~ will be completed soon, and will be a corker!
Pillars for Posterity ~ The Best of the First 20 years
Short Poppy Syndrome ~ the documentary

ONE POSSIBLE FUTURE

Meanwhile we rush around up and down the East coast of Australia more often than not with James Dutton, Gavin Butler, Penny Mc Bride, Bon King, Stephen O'Neil and Frances Gibson. The Cannanes live are at the peak of their powers and are just waiting for some money to drop from the skies to get overseas and play and play. We will get there by hook or by crook so please be patient. News just in: Tokyo ~ 18th Feb 2006 with The Moools ~ now CONFIRMED!
